A child-centered counseling approach that uses play as a way for children to express emotions, process experiences, and develop healthy coping skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Play Therapy

What is Telemental Health?

Play Therapy is a specialized form of counseling that uses play — a child’s natural language — to help them express emotions, resolve problems, and develop healthy coping skills. Through toys, games, art, and storytelling, children are able to process experiences and feelings in a safe, supportive environment.

Who It's For

Play Therapy is designed for children ages 3 to 12 who may be experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges. It can benefit children dealing with:

  • Anxiety or depression

  • Grief and loss

  • Trauma or abuse

  • Family changes (e.g. divorce, relocation)

  • Behavioral issues or developmental delays

  • Difficulty expressing emotions or forming relationships

What To Expect

Your child’s therapist will create a warm, welcoming space with carefully selected toys and materials to encourage self-expression. Through weekly sessions, your child will build trust with their therapist, explore difficult feelings, and work through inner conflicts — all through the language of play. Parents are often invited to participate in progress reviews and learn strategies to support their child at home.

Our Approach

Our licensed play therapists use evidence-based techniques rooted in empathy, trauma-informed care, and cultural sensitivity. We work closely with families to create personalized care plans that honor your child’s unique needs and strengths — helping them thrive emotionally, socially, and developmentally.

Will I be involved in my child’s therapy?

Yes. While the therapy sessions are primarily for your child, parent involvement is an important part of the process. We provide regular updates, offer parenting strategies, and may invite you to participate in selected sessions to support your child’s progress at home.

How long does it take to see results?

Every child is unique, so the length of therapy can vary. Some children may show progress within a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. Your therapist will regularly communicate with you to review your child’s growth and adjust the plan as needed.
